FIBROBLAST TREATMENT AFTERCARE

Congratulations! You have received one of the most cutting edge non-surgical treatments available for skin tightening & rejuvenation!  You will notice immediate results following your treatment, and full results over the next 12 weeks!

For optimal results, a second treatment over the same area is recommended 6 weeks after the initial treatment.

  • Keep the treated area clean with non-alcohol based cleansers.  Do not douse the area, but rather dab gently with a cotton pad or washcloth.

  • The treated area will need to be kept out of direct water while the little scabs are present. Please be very careful when showering and washing face,  avoid sweating, and sleeping on your side to protect these scabs!

  • The treated area can and should be hydrated with hyaluronic acid daily.  If you do not have this, basic unscented lotions, facial oils will suffice.

  • PLEASE: No itching or rubbing while in the scabby phase!  To avoid infection and/or scarring. It is important not to pick or rub at the treatment area. It will start to peel or flake within a few days- 1 week. Let this occur naturally.

  • PROTECT the treated area from the sun!! This is very important!  If you know you will be spending time in the sun following your treatment, please cover the area with SPF 40+ and any garments you can!  The treated area will be sun-sensitive for about 3 months following the treatment.

  • Once all scabbing has subsided, you are free to begin resuming all activities and routines as normal!

What to expect right after your treatment:

You may notice the lingering charred smell following your procedure. This is normal and should diminish after cleansing.

Pain/burning sensation is not uncommon.  Anti-inflammatory or Anti-histamine medications will help relieve it.

Swelling may also occur, especially if treated on the eye area.  Ice the areas to relieve swelling. This will help soothe the burning sensations as well.

The following must be avoided while healing:

  • Sleeping on your sides (if treated on the face/neck)- Airplane pillows are a lifesaver for this one!

  • Increased sweating, Practicing sports, Swimming

  • Sun tanning or salon tanning- USE SPF!!!

  • Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing RetinA or Glycolic Acid on the treated area.

  • Picking, peeling or scratching of the treated area in order to avoid scarring/ infection.

  • Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris

  • Smoking

  • Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing

Consult your physician immediately if you experience any abnormal swelling or signs of infection!
