Microblading Aftercare

Congratulations on your fabulous new brows!! They are going to be so amazing and hassle-free for SO LONG!!  Your new brows will require a little TLC during the healing process to ensure that you achieve the best results possible. Please follow ALL instructions carefully! One touch-up is included in the cost of your treatment, but any additional touch-ups due to improper aftercare compliance will incur a charge!

  • Your brows will need to be kept DRY and UNDISTURBED while scabs are present. Please be very careful when showering and washing your face, avoid sweating, and sleeping on your side to protect these scabs!

  • PLEASE: No itching or rubbing while in the scabby phase!  To avoid infection and/or bald spots on the brow, it is important not to pick or rub at the pigment that may start to peel or flake. Let this occur naturally.

  • DRY SKIN: on day 7, begin applying a THIN layer of protective balm (Aquaphor) 2x a day. This will help the scabs start to loosen up and flake away more readily. Be sure to wash hands before application and ideally apply with clean cotton swab, gently, no vigorous motions.

  • OILY OR COMBINATION SKIN: Witch Hazel should be used several times per day to keep oils away from healing brows.  Beginning as early as a few hours after your procedure, please use a witch hazel soaked cotton pad and dab gently over and around your brows. Please do this at least 3-4 times per day.

  • Once all scabbing has subsided, you are free to begin resuming all activities and routines as normal!

  • Brows will need up to 1 month to fully heal. Touch-ups may be scheduled 4-6 weeks out to fine tune the brows, and fill in any bare spots to ensure brows are perfectly even.

Your Brows will go through many stages during the healing process:

Phase 1:

Dark Phase-  In this phase your brows will appear very dark as scabs are collecting excess pigment at the surface.

Phase 2:

Patchy Phase-As scabs begin to flake away in chunks, some spots will be very dark and some will look like bald spots. A brow pencil or powder can be used in this phase to help blend any patchy-ness!

Phase 3:

Light Phase- After scabbing has all flaked away, your brows will appear very dull in color. This is because new skin has healed overtop of the pigment I have placed.  In the next 1-2 weeks following this dullness, pigment will re-emerge as new skin settles in.

Your results cannot be fully judged until your brows have completely healed after 4-6 weeks!

The following must be avoided while healing:

  • Sleeping on your sides- Airplane pillows are a lifesaver for this one!

  • Increased sweating, Practicing sports, Swimming

  • Sun tanning or salon tanning- USE SPF forevermore!!!

  • Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing RetinA or Glycolic Acid on the brows

  • Picking, peeling, or scratching of the pigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment

  • Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris

  • Smoking

  • Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing

Consult your physician immediately if you experience any

abnormal swelling or signs of infection!
